Android 15 update includes a new privacy feature that marks some notifications as “sensitive,” blocking them from third-party apps. This is great for privacy but problematic for notifications like two-factor authentication (2FA) codes, which are essential for security.
Users relying on Phone Link for notifications now have to check their phones constantly, defeating the app’s purpose of simplifying communication.
There’s a workaround by disabling “Enhanced Notifications” in Android 15 settings. This allows notifications to appear in Phone Link but at a cost—losing advanced features and exposing notifications to potential security risks.
While this temporary solution helps, it’s not perfect. Both Microsoft and Google are aware of the issue and are expected to release an update to address it, aiming to balance privacy and functionality.
