How to fix logs from FortiWeb not showing in FortiWeb Manager

This article describes the troubleshooting steps to check if FortiWeb logs are not shown in the FortiWeb Manager Log view.

Solution

FortiWeb Manager is a management tool that gives the flexibility to manage Multiple FortiWeb devices remotely from a single location.

It increases the efficiency and productivity of the Network Administrator to manage devices, Licenses, and various logs in real time from a single pane of view without going on an Individual device.

In this article, there are some troubleshooting steps to perform if FortiWeb Manager is not receiving logs from FortiWeb devices.

To access remote device Logs in FortiWeb Manager:

Select the Drop-down Arrow and select Log View.

Note: FortiWeb Manager obtains logs in real-time from FortiWeb by using RESTful API.

Step 1: Check the Devices show UP (Green Arrows) in the Device manager Pane of FortiWeb Manager.

Step 2: Check the time sync between devices (FortiWeb and FortiWeb Manager). It is very important for the time to synchronize to receive the logs from the remote device.

It is actually possible to Sync them using the NTP server. This will make sure there is no time drift between devices. However, if there is no NTP server, then make sure to configure the time zone and time correctly.

Step 3: Check the version for FortiWeb and FortiWeb Manager. It is recommended that the FortiWeb version be equal or less otherwise some new features may not be supported if the FortiWeb version is higher.
