How to Fix FortiToken email activation via FortiGate shows Failed to send activation code error

Solution

FortiToken has 3 main statuses:

  • Available: The Token is activated and can be assigned to the user.
  • Assigned: The Token is assigned to the user and the user has activated the Token
  • Pending: The Token is assigned to the user but the user has not yet activated the code.

Sometimes, users get the following error when sending an activation code via email:

The activation code cannot be sent for already activated tokens.
If the token is provisioned and the current state is ‘Pending’, it is possible to resend the Token activation code.

Meanwhile, if the Token has already been activated, and the status is ‘Assigned’, it will not be to resend the activation code.
