This article describes how to resolve the following error that appears in the GUI when pushing policy or changing device settings: ’Waiting for other session id(1641), username(n/a)’.
Scope
FortiManager 6.X and 7.X.
Solution
Occasionally, settings cannot be pushed to the firewall due to the error ‘Waiting for other session id(1641), username(n/a)’.
The issue is related to an error within the task database and the following command will fix the issue:
diagnose dvm task repair
Note: The command will reboot the FortiManager, so consider doing it during a maintenance period or off of peak hours.
If this step fails, collect the output of the following debug commands while reproducing the issue, then create a FortiCare ticket and attach the output logs to it:
diag debug app depmanager 255 diag debug app securityconsole 255 diag debug enable
