This article describes how to use FortiManager to provide FortiGuard license and updates to FortiMail.

Solution
Configuration on the FortiManager
Step 1: Enable the Administrative Domain setting under the Dashboard Settings:
Step 2: Under the Network Interface settings, enable the FortiGuard Updates and Web Filtering Services on the interface.
Step 3: Under the FortiGuard Settings, enable Antivirus and IPS Service for FortiMail.
Configuration on the FortiMail
Step 4: Navigate to the Advanced View in the top-right corner.
Step 5: Under System -> FortiGuard -> Antivirus, enable the override server and specify the FortiManager’s IP Address.
Step 6: Under System -> FortiGuard -> AntiSpam, enable the override server and specify the FortiManager’s IP Address.
Step 7: Check the FortiGuard Service Status after the configuration and verify that the service is reachable.
