How to check Kernel version of FortiGate

This article describes how to check the kernel version on FortiGate.

All currently supported versions of FortiOS.

Solution

In the CLI, run this command:

fnsysctl cat /proc/version

The result of the command should look like this:

Some points to keep in mind:

• Administrative access to the Fortigate CLI is required to execute this command.
• Kernel versions may vary depending on the FortiGate model and firmware version.
• FortiGate is based on a modified Linux kernel, so the displayed information might have slight differences compared to a standard Linux distribution.
