Black Ops 6 is packed with modes, maps, and weapons. Custom games with bots? That’s your training ground. Let’s walk through how to set up a bot-filled match to sharpen your skills and master map flow.
- Begin by loading into the multiplayer lobby. Scroll down to “Private Match” at the bottom. Click “Create Private Match.” Now, give it a moment—around 10 seconds. Once the setup options unlock, you’re ready to customize.
- In “Game Setup,” pick your mode. Want a classic? Go with Domination. From there, select a map. Nuketown’s a fan favorite, so let’s say you go with that.
- Head to “Game Rules.” Here, tweak everything: round score limits, time limits, and round switching options. It’s all under “Game Settings,” letting you control match length and flow.
- Move to “Advanced.” Set point values for kills, deaths, and actions to fit your goals. Under “Player Settings,” adjust lives, health, and regen rate. Dial in exactly how intense or forgiving you want your practice.
- Ready to add some bots? In the team menu, click to add bots, then adjust difficulty. Set up a few veterans, mix in some recruits, or adjust as you go. It’s all up to you. Want tougher competition? Switch recruits to hardened bots with a click.
- Under “Gameplay,” activate Hardcore Mode if you’re after realism. You can also set it to headshot-only, ideal for precision drills. Any shot outside the head area? No damage. Perfect for upping your aim.
- Go to “Weapons” and customize your loadout. Want to try the Model L? Equip it, head to Gunsmith, and attach a reflex or compensator. This lets you see which setups feel right in action.
- Fill remaining spots with bots or bring in friends. To invite, select the slot, hit “Invite Player,” and choose your buddy. This can add a human element to your practice round.
- When ready, hit “Play.” You’re in! Adjust loadouts and settings until you find the sweet spot. Then dive into the map and practice tactics, whether solo or with friends.
