Lightyear Frontier offers players the chance to traverse a vast alien landscape, piloting their personal Mech. While solo exploration is an option, the game truly shines when you collaborate with others in co-op multiplayer mode. This feature not only alleviates the solitude of space but also makes farming tasks more enjoyable and productive.
Initiating Multiplayer Co-op in Lightyear Frontier
To embark on a multiplayer adventure, navigate to the Multiplayer section from the main menu. Here, you’re faced with a choice: to host a new session or join an existing one.
Hosting a Session: Choose to host, and you’ll be prompted to select a world—either a fresh start or a continuation of your progress. You’ll have the opportunity to secure your session with a password, though this step is optional. Once you’ve entered your chosen world, access the menu for host options, where you can invite friends directly or share an invite code for them to join through the multiplayer game option.
Joining a Session: If joining is your preference, the game will display a list of recent co-op sessions. Rejoin previous games with ease or enter a provided invite code to link up with friends’ ongoing sessions.
The Power of Teamwork in Lightyear Frontier
Lightyear Frontier supports up to four players in a single session, allowing you to farm, collect, craft, and explore as a team. The presence of allies is invaluable, particularly during challenging Hazardous Events or when collecting critical resources like Aluminum Rods.
