How Do You Fix Missing 0MB Mod Not Signed Error in Project Zomboid?

Sometimes, things break. Like when you try starting your Project Zomboid server and get hit with a window that says, “Not signed” for a mod weighing 0MB. Frustrating, right? This happens because the mod was removed from the Workshop or banned, but your game still clings to it like an old habit. Here’s how to sort it out.

How Do You Fix Missing 0MB Mod Not Signed Error in Project Zomboid?

Step 1: Get Organized

First, let’s find the problem mod. It’s tricky because the game doesn’t tell you which one is causing trouble—especially if you’ve got a hundred mods running. Don’t panic; tools can help.

  1. Subscribe to these two mods:
    • Mod Manager (ID: 2694448564)
    • Mod Manager: Server (ID: 2725216703)
  1. After subscribing, go to the “Mods” section in the main menu.
  2. Enable both mods and restart your game.
  3. Now, you’ve got a handy tool to manage and sort your mods.

Step 2: Clean Up Server

Here’s where we fix things. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the game and head to the “Mods” section in the main menu.
  2. With Mod Manager: Server active, you’ll see a new button labeled “Server.” Click it.
  3. Select your server from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the screen.
  4. You’ll now see three columns:
    • Left: Mods you’re subscribed to.
    • Middle & Right: Mods used by your server.
  5. Look for mods listed in red text (Unavailable Mods). These are your troublemakers.
  6. Click each red mod one by one. A “Remove” button will appear, click it to delete them from both columns.
  7. Hit “Save” once all red mods are gone.

That’s it! Your server should now start without errors.

Important Notes

Removing unavailable mods will delete any items or structures tied to them on your server. The game will try replacing them with alternatives (like transport), but some things might be lost forever.

Fixing this issue isn’t just about starting your server; it’s about keeping your game experience alive and frustration-free. Whether you’re playing solo or with friends, no one wants errors blocking their fun.
