Why Is YouTube Speed Control Broken on Your Android Phone?

Good news: YouTube fixed this problem on August 6, 2025. They told users to close the YouTube app completely and open it again.

- Press and hold the video – This makes it play at 2x speed, but only while you hold it
- Use YouTube in your web browser – The website version works fine
