It’s frustrating when you’re pumped to play THRONE AND LIBERTY but it just won’t launch on your PC, I’ve been through this myself and found some bulletproof fixes that’ll have you gaming in no time.
- Run Steam as an administrator. Just exit Steam, then right-click on it and select “Run as administrator.” Launch the game and see if that does the trick.
- Try restarting your computer. It sounds too simple, but sometimes that’s all it takes.
- Rename the “OpenXR” folder in the game’s installation directory. You can find it under “steamapps\common\THRONE AND LIBERTY\Engine\Binaries\ThirdParty.” Just add a dot after “OpenXR” so it reads “OpenXR.old.”
- Delete the contents of the “Win64” folder inside the “OpenXR” folder. You might want to create a backup first, just in case.
- If you’re able to launch the game, head to the graphics options by pressing “O” on your keyboard. Turn off Direct X12 and see if that helps.
- Right-click on the game’s exe file, go to “Properties,” then “Compatibility,” and check the box that says “Disable fullscreen optimizations.” Hit apply and give it another go.
- Delete the “beta” folder in the game’s installation directory. You can find it under “C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Amazon Game Studios\Launcher.” Create a backup first if you want to be extra cautious.
- Verify the game files through Steam. Right-click on the game, select “Properties,” go to the “Local Files” tab, and click “Verify integrity of game files.”
If none of that works, don’t lose hope! There are still a few more things we can try, like running the game in different compatibility modes, allowing it through your antivirus and firewall, updating your graphics drivers, and even increasing your virtual memory.
I know it can be overwhelming, but trust me, one of these solutions is bound to work for you. Just take it one step at a time, and before you know it, you’ll be playing THRONE AND LIBERTY like a pro!
