How are everyday applications using artificial intelligence to change the way we work?

Which artificial intelligence platforms are really dominating global web traffic right now?

The Artificial Intelligence Benchmark

Nine hundred million people interact with ChatGPT every week. This metric indicates that more than ten percent of the global population uses this specific application regularly. Andreessen Horowitz recently published consumer data confirming OpenAI’s substantial market lead. Their primary chatbot currently generates nearly three times the web traffic of its closest competitor. ChatGPT maintains a decisive advantage across mobile usage metrics and total platform engagement time.

Established Software Evolution

The market landscape shifts significantly when we evaluate established software platforms. The latest industry rankings now include legacy applications that natively incorporate artificial intelligence into their core infrastructure. This methodological adjustment alters our perspective on actual user adoption rates. CapCut operates as a prominent video editor and currently commands 736 million monthly active users. Notion reports that artificial intelligence adoption among its paying customer base increased from twenty percent to over fifty percent within twelve months.

Revenue and Market Expansion

Underlying revenue metrics reflect this accelerated user adoption. Anthropic’s Claude achieved a 200 percent year-over-year growth in paid subscriptions. The associated developer tool Claude Code reached a one billion dollar annualized revenue run rate in just six months. Google’s Gemini increased its paid user base by 258 percent over a similar period. A creative image model called Nano Banana drove much of this growth by attracting 10 million new users in its first week. OpenAI is currently responding by integrating 85 external services directly into the ChatGPT interface.

Global Patterns and Developer Activity

Geographic usage patterns are diversifying rapidly across international markets. Western tools maintain strong adoption rates across the United States, India, and Brazil. However, Yandex Browser recently entered the global top ten mobile applications with 71 million active users. DeepSeek captures significant internet traffic across China, Russia, and the United States. Furthermore, an open-source project called OpenClaw quickly surpassed both Linux and React to become the most-starred repository in GitHub history.

Evaluating Measurement Methodologies

Industry professionals advise examining these market rankings with critical scrutiny. Data analysts note that the current Andreessen Horowitz list completely excludes desktop application usage. This specific omission severely impacts the ranking placement of coding environments like Cursor. Most developers rely on native desktop clients rather than browser-based editors for their daily workflows. Despite these measurement limitations, the data proves that algorithmic tools now operate seamlessly within standard digital workspaces.
