How to check which signatures have configured exceptions

This article describes how to search which signatures in a User-Defined Rule have configured exceptions.

Solution

Step 1: Go to Web Protection > Known Attacks > Signatures and select the signature rule in User Defined:

Step 2: Select the select rule and select Signatures Details:

Step 3: In the Dictionaries column, select Filter. In ‘Filter by‘ field select ‘Signatures With Exception‘ and select Apply:

Step 4: Search will show all the signatures with some configured exceptions in the selected Signature’s User Defined Rule. To see which exceptions are configured in a signature, select the found signature and then select Exception:

Step 5: All the configured exceptions in the signature are shown. If necessary (and with the necessary admin rights), edit, move, delete, or add new entries in the exception list.

Note: This procedure is not possible with the Predefined signature rules because those rules are read-only and cannot be modified.
