Sell and Transmute Unwanted Items
Gems are valuable items for farming Gil in FF7 Rebirth. Sell them for up to 150 Gil each if you don’t need them for Transmutation.
You can also sell old and weak gear that you no longer use. As you progress in the game, you will get better equipment and items. Sell the lower-tier ones and any duplicate Materia.
Don’t hoard crafting materials. Get more recipes and craft more items. This won’t boost your Craftsmanship XP, but it will give you more Gil when you sell the extra items.
Complete Expedition Intels
Expedition Intels can reward you with various crafting materials, including rare ones like Rubies and Emeralds. Sell these materials if you don’t want to use them for transmutation. You can get more Gil this way. Expedition Intels are available from Chapter Two, after scanning the first tower in the Chocobo Ranch.
Steal Celeris from Levrikons
You can steal Celeris vials from Levrikons and sell them for 500 Gil each. Equip the Steal Materia on one of your characters and use it when you can.
You can find Levrikons from Chapter Two, around the marshes of the Grassland Area. You can buy the Steal Materia from Vending Machines for 500 Gil later in the game.
Find the Caches
You can find caches with information about hidden treasure chests in the six open regions of the game. They don’t count for your World Intel, but they are worth finding. You can get different treasures with lots of Gil in these caches.
Sniff out the Gil
You can also find hidden treasures where bunnies gather. Use your Chocobo mount and sniff the air to find items underground. You can get valuable crafting materials, PLAY ARTS figurines, and sometimes lots of Gil.
Equip the Gil Up Materia
The Gil Up Materia can double the Gil you get from battles. This is a great way to increase your money. You can also do Odd Jobs, Combat Assignments, and side quests for more money. Some early side quests can give you more than 3,000 Gil each.
Play on Easy Mode
The Gil from battles is the same on any difficulty, but Easy mode can make you progress faster.
To change the difficulty, go to the System menu and choose Gameplay. The Difficulty Settings option is at the top of the list. You can also unlock Hard mode there.
