TRUSTe Privacy Index 2013 Great Britain Consumer Confidence Edition

TRUSTe’s online survey of 2,006 adults and summary the findout based on consumer concern, consumer mistrust and business impact perspective.

Consumer concern remains high in 2013, 88 percent of British Internet users worry about their privacy online, down slightly from 90 percent in 2012.

Consumer mistrust increased in 2013. 43 percent of British Internet users do not trust businesses with their personal information, up from 37 percent in 2012.

66% of smartphone users are more concerned about their privacy on smartphones than a year ago.

Business impact remains high in 2013. 91 percent of British Internet users say they avoid companies that do not protect their privacy, up from 88 percent in 2012.
