T-Mobile Released Android 5.0 Lollipop for Google Nexus 7

Beginning January 30, the Nexus 7 received a software update to Android 5.0/ Build version LRX22G. This update provides features and improvements.

Check the software version

  1. From the Home screen, tap All Apps.
  2. Tap System.
  3. Scroll down to ‘SYSTEM,’ and then tap About tablet.
  4. Read the version on the device, and check it below:
    LRX22G: Your software is up to date. There are no updates available.
    KTU84P, KTU84L, KOT49H, KRT16S, JSS15J: Your device can update to software version KTU84P.
    Other versions : Your device has non-T-Mobile software, and it is unsupported.

Requirements to update

  • 50% or higher battery life
  • Data connection
  • 3 MB available memory (File size of update: 2.2 MB)

Update software from the device

  1. From the Home screen, tap All Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap About device.
  4. Tap Software update.
    If you are not connected to Wi-Fi, you may receive a prompt to connect.
    If Wi-Fi is not available, tap OK.
    If the update is not available, you will receive the message The device is up-to-date. If you receive this message, please wait for your device to receive the update via OTA.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts.
  6. Wait as your device restarts and updates to Android version 4.4.4 / Software version KTU84P.
