Problem Symptom
I’ve set the PowerChute Virtual Appliance and it works. I need to shut down the VM but can’t find the way how. The Console asks for Credentials but the only ones I have are those used to access the Web Page of the PowerChute which don’t work. The Web Page itself doesn’t list any Menu option that allows to shutdown the VM. How do I shut down the VM?
Follow the below solution steps to shut down VM with PowerChute Virtual Appliance.
Solution
If it has VMware Tools installed, you can trigger a Shutdown OS option from the VM menu.
The VM will shutdown almost immediately.
Note: Some appliances, we’ve seen you have to login to shutdown, as they don’t have an item in the console to Shutdown, Unitrends is such an appliance like this.
