Microsoft is now accepting bitcoin for buying games and other digital content on Windows, Windows Phone and Xbox games, music, and video stores. Members of Reddit’s bitcoin subred noted that Microsoft integrating with Bitpay to process Bitcoin transcation. Microsoft does have instructions related to bitcoin payments posted within billing help pages.
Customers can use bitcoin to load money into a Microsoft wallet or to create digital gift cards, but direct payments with the cryptocurrency are not supported at this time. According to feedback from Reddit members, Bitcoin payments appear to be limited to customers in the U.S.
