MC447689: Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps Alert/SMS retirement update

We are retiring the ability to trigger Alerts/SMS content messages through the Defender for Cloud Apps portal. Instead, we recommend the utilization of Microsoft Power Automate, which is where we will continue to invest our development resources.

MC447689: Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps Alert/SMS retirement update

When this will happen

We’ll be gradually rolling this out to tenants that are not using this feature in October, and the roll out will be completed for all customers in late-November.

How this affects your organization

Admins will no longer be able to send text message notifications through Alerts/SMS, when this change is implemented.

What you can do to prepare

Customers that would like to receive text alerts should use Microsoft Power Automate for custom alert automation.
