The new RTMP-In encoder for Teams Live Events will also allow your Teams Live Events to have all the features and external encoder support that Microsoft Stream offered for Teams Live Events. In addition, we will support public events, in addition to organization-wide events

Produce your Teams Live Events using an external encoder and leverage RTMP-in to broadcast to your Teams Live Event Attendees.
When this will happen
Preview: We will begin rolling out mid-October 2022 and expect to complete by late December 2022 (previously late October 2022).
How this will affect your organization
These capabilities will be available to all Public Preview users who can currently schedule Teams Live Events. Once Enabled in Public Preview, users will see a new option when scheduling Live Events.
“Teams Encoder (Preview)” will be the new option and will add support for public attendees into the features for encoder powered Live Events.
The same encoders supported in legacy Stream powered encoders are supported for Teams Encoder (Preview).

Review if your tenant is configured for Public Preview.
