Updated September 12, 2022: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

We are strengthening the integration of Power Apps and Microsoft Lists. Power Apps can now be used to add, update, or delete images that are stored in image columns in lists. Images up to 30MB are supported. Supported image formats can be found here. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 98119.

Power Apps image controls are now fully connected with image columns in Microsoft Lists. You can add, update, or delete images from a list via a Power App.

When this will happen

Targeted Release: We will begin rolling out late September 2022 (previously early September 2022) and expect to complete by mid-October 2022 (previously mid-September 2022).

Standard Release: We will begin rolling out mid-October 2022 (previously mid-September 2022) and expect to complete by late October 2022 (previously late September 2022).

How this will affect your organization

New apps that have a SharePoint data connection and are connected to a list may use controls that can add, update, or delete images from the list. To obtain the same functionality on existing apps, the SharePoint data connection must be deleted and then re-added to refresh the data schema.

What you need to do to prepare

You might want to notify your users about this new functionality and update your training and documentation as appropriate.
