Coming soon to public preview, we’re introducing new search functionality for Audit (Standard) and Audit (Premium). This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 93236.

This is a new search for Audit (Standard) and Audit (Premium). This new search offers increased reliability and efficiency for search jobs. It also allows for search jobs to be completed in the background and saved for later reference.

When this will happen

Rollout will begin in mid-June and is expected to be complete by late July.

We’re rolling out a new search for Audit (Standard) and Audit (Premium). This New Search (preview) offers increased reliability and efficiency for search jobs. It also allows for search jobs to be completed in the background and saved for later reference and allows for several search jobs to run concurrently.

What you need to do to prepare

New Search will be enabled for all tenants automatically during Public Preview. To use New Search, click on the New Search (preview) tab in the search tool on the Audit homepage. To utilize the existing Search functionality (Classic Search), click on the Search tab instead.

You can access the Audit solution in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal.
