MC384327: Emails Related to AAD Groups are Changing Format

When using Microsoft 365 and Security groups, emails are sent to users in the following scenarios:

  • Email sent to group owner when a user requests to join their group
  • Email sent to requestor when group owner approves or denies their request
  • Emails that occur when group expiration is enabled (Microsoft 365 groups only)

We are using a new service to send these emails, resulting in the look of the emails changing.

When this will happen

We will begin rollout in late June and complete rollout by early July.

How this will affect your organization

Anyone in your organization who uses groups will continue to receive emails during the scenarios listed above, however, these emails will come from a different sender.

What you need to do to prepare

At this time, there is no action required. We recommend making end users aware of this email change if required.
