MC378419: Automatic groupings available in Teams for channel posts

A new Automatic Grouping will be available in Teams as a suggestion to use in channel posts. Users will be able to use “@Team Owners” in a channel posting and all Team Owners will be notified. This functionality will be available in both Desktop (including Web) and Mobile. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID: 94118.

When creating a message post in a team channel, users will be able to notify owners of the team all at once by mentioning “@Team Owners”, removing the need to mention each Team Owners individually. “Team Owners” is automatically grouped and does not require any manual maintenance.

When this will happen

  • Standard Release: We expect this rollout to begin in early May and expect the rollout to be completed by late June.
  • GCC: We expect this rollout to begin in late May and expect the rollout to be completed in early July.
  • GCC-H: We expect this rollout to begin in late May and expect the rollout to be completed in early July.
  • DoD: We expect this rollout to begin in late May and expect the rollout to be completed in early July.
