MC346254: Immersive Reader for Outlook Desktop

Immersive Reader in Outlook Desktop includes all capabilities available in Immersive Reader Microsoft Word. It allows you to adjust the text of an email to read in the way that works best for you. Use Read Aloud to hear emails read to you as each word is highlighted, or modify spacing, color and more for a comfortable and easy to process email experience.

When this will happen

We expect this to rollout to Semi Annual Channel (SAC) to begin in mid-July and be completed by early August (previously late July).

Note: This has already been rolled out to SAC Preview as of early March.

How this will affect your organization

When Immersive Reader is turned on, the Immersive Reader tab and ribbon are visible. You can use it to read and compose messages and when enabled, it is on, until you turn it off.

The entry point to adjust this setting/feature can be found by selecting View menu > Immersive Reader.

Note: This feature will be on by default.

What you need to do to prepare

No action is required but you may want to update your documentation accordingly.
