Admin pinning for apps will allow admins to pre-pin and surface applications, specifically message extensions, relevant for their tenant. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 87506.
Admins can manage the pin order of messaging extensions in the compose experience.
When this will happen
We expect this feature to begin rolling out in mid-March and expect the rollout to be fully completed by early April.
How this will affect your organization
Admins will have controls that would enable them to select applications to pre-pin for users in their tenant. These applications will come pre-installed for users and be easily accessible via the compose bar.
Admins can configure the Pinned apps selection within the “Setup Policies” section in the admin center.

Admins should review the pre-pinned apps settings to ensure that the list of applications reflects the needs of their tenant.
