MC335277: LinkedIn Integration coming to Teams

Updated March 22, 2022: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

For those tenants that have LinkedIn integration available to their members, we are expanding its availability to Teams as a panel in one on one conversations. This is the first part of a series of updates which will also bring LinkedIn to the contact card in the coming months. Initially this is limited to contacts within the tenant, but as the contact card updates are released, then this will be available for all contacts within and outside the tenant. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 89132.

Users will be able to see LinkedIn profiles of their colleagues in 1:1 chat. The LinkedIn profile is available via the LinkedIn tab in the 1:1 chat panel.

When this will happen

We will begin rolling this out in early April (previously mid-March) and expect to complete by late April (previously early April).

How this will affect your organization

Once available, the new LinkedIn tab will appear at the top of the 1:1 conversation in Teams alongside the existing tabs for Chat, Files, Organization and Activity, and will work just like the contact card in Outlook does today.

You continue to have the same controls as before over the integration availability. This is just making the experience available in more places for your members.

What you need to do to prepare

Review your current configuration to ensure the appropriate experience for your organization.
