When this will happen

Rollout begins in late February (previously late January) and is expected to be complete by late May (previously mid-February).

How this will affect your organization

You can access Hold reports (preview) in the Advanced eDiscovery solution within the Microsoft 365 compliance center. From the Hold reports (preview) tab, you can sort, filter, group by, and customize columns to customize your hold reports. You can also download reports for further analysis.

To enable hold reports for your organization, go to Advanced eDiscovery > Advanced eDiscovery settings > Hold reports (preview).

To opt-in to generate hold reports for all eDiscovery cases in your organization, you must be an eDiscovery Administrator in your organization. Only eDiscovery Administrators in your organization can access hold reports.
