Microsoft 365 compliance center: Advanced eDiscovery – Hold reports
Out-of-the-box reports that contain information about all legal holds associated with eDiscovery cases in the Microsoft 365 compliance center. Sort and filter your view based on various criteria and download the aggregated information for further analysis.
When this will happen
Rollout begins in mid-January and is expected to be complete by late January 2022.
How this will affect your organization
You can access Hold reports (preview) in the Advanced eDiscovery solution within the Microsoft 365 compliance center. From the Hold reports (preview) tab, you can sort, filter, group by, and customize columns to customize your hold reports. You can also download reports for further analysis.
To enable hold reports for your organization, go to Advanced eDiscovery > Advanced eDiscovery settings > Hold reports (preview).
Your first hold reports can take up to two days to complete. Once your reports are ready, go to Advanced eDiscovery > Hold reports (preview) to view your hold reports. Hold reports are updated once per day. The last updated time is shown at the top of the Hold reports (preview) page.
What you need to do to prepare
Your organization must have the appropriate organization subscription for Advanced eDiscovery to generate and access hold reports.
To opt-in to generate hold reports for all eDiscovery cases in your organization, you must be an eDiscovery Administrator in your organization. Only eDiscovery Administrators in your organization can access hold reports.
