Viva topics is coming to Outlook on the web. It can identify key words in email messages users receive from business associates with internal topics and create a curated summary including a description, people associated with the topic, and related files. It also allows the sender of an email to manually tag words as topics to add richness to communications. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 88533.

When this will happen

  • Public preview: we will begin rolling this out in mid-December and expect to complete rollout late December.
  • Standard: we will begin rolling this out in early March (previously late February) and expect to complete rollout late April (previously early April).
