The Microsoft 365 Groups icon seen under the Groups section in left navigation pane will be changed. This change is applicable only to Outlook on Web application. Currently it is represented by a folder icon. It will be replaced by the Groups icon. This icon change will bring visual coherence between Outlook on Web and Outlook Desktop application. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 85632.
Groups icon inside mail module will be made consistent with the Groups icon available in other Outlook applications. Groups icon inside Outlook web will be changed from current folder icon to Groups icon.
When will this happen
We expect to begin this rollout by mid-January (previously early January) and expect the rollout to be complete by early April (previously mid-March).
How will this affect your organization
This change will affect users on Outlook on web application. They will be able to see the new Groups icon in Outlook on web Groups section once it is released. The impact is only on the Groups section of mail module.
