Power BI will now send sensitivity label activity data to Activity Explorer for admins to search and review along with the rest of the Microsoft Information Protection (MIP), Azure Information Protection (AIP), and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) data sets from native Office apps and other cloud resources.
When this will happen
Rollout will begin in late November and is expected to be complete by late December.
How this will affect your organization
Power BI currently sends sensitivity label activity data to the Audit stream for admins to review. With this update, this Power BI label activity data will now also flow into Activity Explorer within the Microsoft 365 compliance center. Here, admins can search and review this data along with the rest of the Microsoft Information Protection (MIP), Azure Information Protection (AIP), and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) data sets from native Office apps and other cloud resources.
What you need to do to prepare
Access Activity explorer in the Microsoft 365 compliance center:
- Microsoft 365 compliance center for Worldwide multi-tenant and GCC
- Microsoft 365 compliance center for GCC-H
Note: To surface Power BI data in Activity explorer, select the “PowerBI” checkbox in the Location drop-down.
