MC281127: Azure Active Directory system account renamed from CloudPCBPRT to Windows 365 BPRT Permanent User

When assigning a Windows 365 license on your tenant for the first time, a system account is automatically created in Azure Active Directory. We have updated the name for the system account, it was previously called CloudPCBPRT and will show as Windows 365 BPRT Permanent User.

MC281127: Azure Active Directory system account renamed from CloudPCBPRT to Windows 365 BPRT Permanent User How this will affect your organization

This change will be visible within the next 7 days. It is important that you do not delete this account or make any changes to it (such as changing the name or UPN). If the system account is deleted or modified, the setup will fail. This system account ensures a smooth setup process and does not have any write capabilities or access to your organization beyond the scoped service capabilities of Windows 365 Business. If the Windows 365 BPRT Permanent User system account is missing or if any changes were made to it, login to windows365.microsoft.com with an account that has a Windows 365 Business license assigned. This action will generate a new Azure Active Directory Windows 365 BPRT Permanent User system account within 12 hours. If the account does not automatically restore itself after 12 hours, please open a request with support.

What you need to do to prepare

No action is required at this time. Read the above information to understand the change, you may also reference the documentation as needed for your organization.
