MC279088: New Update for Teams Phones Coming Soon

Microsoft is introducing the following new features and improvements for Microsoft Teams on Desk Phones in September:

  • Remote Sign-out from Teams Admin Center (TAC) Portal – admins can provision devices from TAC, remotely sign in and now also sign out from devices
  • Branch office survivability for Teams phones allowing users to make PSTN calls even when the internet connection is down
  • Log collection enhancements – admins can now download all logs (company portal, device management, and media) from TAC
  • Bug fixes related to authentication

This update will be available in Teams Admin Center in September 2021.

What you need to do to prepare

If you are a member of Teams Technology Adoption Program (TAP) program, you may start testing the new update in late August once the preview version is released.
