Communication compliance policies that detect violations in Microsoft Teams will now analyze the content of documents shared in chat for potential policy match.
- Microsoft 365 suite
When this will happen
Rollout will begin in early October (previously mid-September) and is expected to be complete by late November (previously mid-October).
How this will affect your organization
This new feature allows you to analyze linked content in Microsoft Teams from OneDrive and SharePoint Online for policy matches. With this preview feature, you will now be able to include the content of documents shared in Teams chats in your Communication compliance policy scope.
What you need to do to prepare
By default, global administrators do not have access to Communication Compliance features. To enable permissions for Communication Compliance features, see Make Communication Compliance available in your organization.
You might want to notify appropriate users about these new capabilities and update your training and documentation as needed.
