MC268194: Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) Safe Links in Microsoft Teams

Affected Workloads

  • Microsoft Teams

When this will happen

  • Production & GCC: beginning in mid-July and complete by early August.
  • GCC-High and DoD: beginning in early September and complete by the end of October.

How this will affect your organization

ATP Safe Links for Teams checks that the links people click on in Teams are safe from the point that an end user clicks on a link. If we flag the link as malicious, we will show the user a block page. All links throughout Teams including in chats, channels, and tabs are protected.

What you need to do to prepare

  • You should create a policy to enable ATP Safe Links for Teams in order to protect your users.
  • You might want to notify your users about this new capability and update your training and documentation as appropriate.
