MC258425: Yammer and Microsoft Teams for Business: Rich link previews in Teams chats

With this change, when inserting a link of a Yammer conversation in a public community from their canonical (home) network, users with the Yammer Communities app for Microsoft Teams installed will now get a rich preview directly in Teams. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 82243.

Microsoft Teams admins can customize the branding for the Yammer Communities app for Microsoft Teams to suit their Yammer network with their preferred app logos, naming, accent color, and more. with this Communities app for Microsoft Teams, users see a rich Yammer preview in chats and channel conversations when the user pastes a URL of a conversation from a public Yammer community.

When this will happen

This new functionality will be rolling out in early August (previously June). If you see that the Communities app version is greater than v.2.2.5, then the functionality has been enabled in your tenant.

How this will affect your organization

Users with the Communities app installed will now see a rich preview of the Yammer link they paste into the chat window. If a preview is not desired, simply remove the preview.
