With Notification Center, you can manage and keep track all notifications such as email, texts, friend requests and other in one location. Notification show on top of screen while you are using the device and will display on Lock screen. Swipe down from top of screen to enter Notification Center to select which notifications you want to display.
Built into Message app for you to send text, photos, videos, locations and contacts via Wi-Fi or 3G from iPad, iPhone or iPod touch to anyone with one of those devices. With iMessage, you can held group messaging, track message with delivery receipts, secure encryption, start conversation from previous session and see when someone’s typing.
You can organizes all magazine and newspaper app subscriptions in one place can categorize with folder for easy access. Newsstand is integrate with App Store with new category in App Store specifically for newspaper and magazine subscriptions so that new purchases will go into Newsstand folder. New issues will update automatically at background when available.
You can organize To-Do list together with due dates and locations. Reminder in iOS 5 work with iCal, Outlook and the iCloud to update automatically on all devices and calenders.
Integration between Twitter with apps such as Photos, Camera, Safari, YouTube, and Maps to let Twitter users share content with friends through Tweets directly apps. You can add Location to any Tweet and mention or reply your friend from Contacts’s Twitter username.
Camera app is accessible from Lock screen and you will able to use Volume up button on the iPhone 4 to take pictures, pinch-to-zoom gesture, single-tap focus, exposure locks and basic photograph editing/enhancement features. Additionally, you can download photos to all other devices if you have enabled photo stream in iCloud.
Photo app update with crop, rotate and remove red-eye editing functions. You can manage your photos with organize photos into albums or sync new photos with iCloud then push to other devices.
Safari, Reader and Reading List
Safari improve with tabbled browsing and better tabbed browsing, easy switching, performance, Safari Reader to display articles stripped of ad content and Reading List to save articles to read later or sync to other devices using iCloud.
With iOS 5, you can activate, setup device, download iOS software updates without using PC or Mac and backup or restore directly to and from iCloud. iOS software updates in iOS 5 will using Over The Air (OTA) updates aka delta updates which only include new change.
New features for inbox app including drag to rearrange names in address fields, flag important messages, search in message body and text format with bold, italic, underlined fonts, indents. You will get free email account with iCloud.
Year view on iPad and week view on iPhone and iPod is available in iOS 5. Calender app integrate with iCloud for you to share calenders and keeps events in sync on all devices.
You can download and purchase games directly from Game Center, friend discovery based on recommendations from games you play, post profile picture and support for turn-based games.
iOS 5 will enable sync between devices and Mac or PC over shared Wi-Fi connection. When you connect iOS device to PC or Mac, it will automatically sync and backs up content to iTunes.
Multitasking Gestures for iPad
iOS 5 includes new gestures for iPad such as use 4 or 5 fingers, swipe up to reveal multitasking bar, pinch to return to Home screen and swipe left or right to switch between apps.
AirPlay Mirroring for iPad 2
AirPlay now supports video mirroring with stream content from iPad 2 to HDTV via Apple TV to show exact display of your iPad s on big screen including rotation and zoom.
iOS 5 include new features for people with mobility, hearing, vision and cognitive disabilities such as integrate with specialized hardware accessories, LED flash, custom vibration settings and VoiceOver with custom element labeling.
Keyboard on iPad can split to enable thumb typing on the tablet.
iTunes Tone Store, Smart Playlist sync from iTunes, iPad Music App, option to speak text selected, VoiceOver item chooser, Mail improved offline support, improved FaceTime video quality, multitasking gestures, alternate routes in Maps.
Over 150 new APIs released with iOS 5 include customize UI, improved PDF support, GL Kit, Storyboarding, Access to LED flash, Full page curl transition, Newsstand Kit, Data protection for Core Data, and more.
