Android 7.1.2 Nougat OTA Public Update for Google Pixel C Tablet and Nexus Player

Android 7.1.2 Nougat stable build update has started distribute via over-the-air (OTA) software update to Pixel C and Nexus Player together with April Security Patch Update scheduled on April 3, in the size about 340.1 MB.

Changes in Android 7.1.2 Nougat update:

  • New multitasking view designed for the tablet’s bigger screen lets users select from and switch between up to eight apps that they have open.
  • Pixel Launcher replacing traditional Google Now launcher
  • Pixel C app switcher now displays a grid of eight most recent apps.
  • Unify the interface with Google’s own Pixel smartphone.
  • No more “all apps” button at the bottom of tablet screen; instead, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to see every app you have installed.
  • Pixel’s weather and date widget is now in the top right corner of the screen.
  • Google search bar replaced by the “G” logo in the top left that you can tap or swipe across to get to the search app.
  • Adding in Android logos on the former’s boot screen.
  • Enabling gestures on the rear-side fingerprint scanner allows users to control the notification shade by swiping on fingerprint scanner.
  • Enable VoLTE (Voice over LTE).
  • Different colour scheme for software navigation buttons.
  • Choose where to set live wallpapers.
  • New battery usage list.
  • TWRP Supported.

Do note that Android 7.1.2 Nougat final update is currently only accessible to Pixel and Nexus devices including Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Huawei Nexus 6P, LG Nexus 5X and the Asus Nexus Player.
