Chrome anniversary celebration with The Evolution Of The Web infographic

While celebrating Chrome third birthday this month, Google published an interactive HTML5 infographic called The Evolution of The Web to show web technologies and evolution of various web browser over the year including Mosaic, Netscape, Opera, Internet Explorer, Safari, Forefox, Chrome and Chrome OS.


Google also highlighted some of Chrome’s features over the years including innovations in prerendering technology, Chrome Web Store, hardware accelerated 3D CSS and the launch of Chromebook.

Chrome having released support for Mac and Linux a year in with its sixth release, and not long after moving to a six-week release cycle over three years. Recent stats have Chrome steadily growing in market share and recently benchmarked as the fastest browser for real world use.

Chrome continues to innovate by adding Omnibar history sync, support for OS Lion multitouch gestures and more recently. Chrome also announced native code execution will be coming soon.
