I’m sure that at some point, the majority of people have wanted to, or been asked to, take a screenshot of a window, application, desktop, or error message. Windows 7 introduces the Snipping Tool – a handy application which can easily capture all of these requirements, and save the capture to file or the clipboard.
Even that image was captured using the Snipping Tool! This tool is easily available from the Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > Snipping Tool. You can also simply type ‘snip’ into the new Windows 7 Start Menu > Search Box and the Snipping Tool will be the first result in the list. Last but not least you can simply press Windows+S to get the Snipping Tool – and that comes most handy.

In this article, I will show how to use the Bootstrapper Manifest Generator (aka BMG) tool to build a bootstrap for MS Office Hotfix (You can use similar steps for any hotfix). This tool will help us to build the folder required in the Visual Studio packages folder and it will show in the prerequisite window for the developer to add to its project window.
This list of Prerequisites, generated by Visual Studio, is based on the content of this specific folder:
[Drive:]Program FilesMicrosoft SDKsWindowsv6.0ABootstrapperPackages
Each sub folder in this Packages folder represents a Prerequisite (Redistributable package) and contains the following files:
– Product.xml manifest file
– Package.xml manifest file
– Redistributable files (Optional. If not found, the software will be downloaded over the Internet.)
The Bootstrapper Manifest Generator tool can downloaded from http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/bmg.
We will be generating the Prerequisite for MS Office 2007. A recent hotfix (KB976811 available through KB976477) for Office 2007 allows us to register and load VSTO add-ins under HKLM for Office 2007.

The standard orientation of our computer screens is generally horizontal (also known as landscape) but monitors placed in portrait mode (where height becomes greater than the width) can be pretty useful for performing tasks that require lot of scrolling (like reading lengthy web pages).
Windows 7 includes a new option under Display Settings that can help you flip the screen from portrait to landscape mode (and vice-versa) without requiring additional software.
This may come very handy if you are using a dual monitor setup with Windows 7 where you want one screen in the default horizontal mode and other one in vertical mode for reading content.

As Microsoft prepare to release their Windows Mobile 6.5 OS update, they are also putting the final touches on the Windows Marketplace App store which should release at the same time as the 6.5 update.
As reported from Intomobile, Microsoft hope that their Marketplace will be a direct competitor to Apple’s App store. We reckon it will be sometime before Microsoft manage to achieve the same levels of success as Apple.
